First blog posts are little awkward.
I'm not sure where I want this blog to go yet. I really should make a blog to post my art since I can't yet afford a website for it. I also really want to make a cooking blog. I know though that I might also want to post other things. We'll see!
So how about a picture of some home made green tea ice cream to break the ice?
Sadly, I don't have the exact recipe because I sort of winged it, but I can guess.
It went something like:
hazelnut milk (3 cups???)
2 1/2 tbsp (somewhere around there) matcha powder
1/2 cup cream of coconut milk
1 tbsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup sugar
Combine, dump it in your ice cream maker and go.

Hey! Falafel is actually really good. I think it's usually vegan, because it's just chickpeas and spices. If you find it at a restaurant, I would ask, though. Tzatziki sauce isn't vegan though. It's greek yogurt with cucumbers and dill. So it's actually easier, and probably cheaper, to make your own. The Fantastic World Foods mix is pretty cheap and is usually sold at regular grocery stores in the organic section.
Dumpster diving isn't as bad as I thought. I'm usually really uptight about germs and dirt and stuff. But all the food is in bags and even if you get veggies that aren't in bags, they have to be washed anyways. Best washed with veggie wash or dish soap just to be sure. I have only been to Trader Joe's, because all the dumpster divers I know online said they throw away TONS of stuff. And they're right! Veggies that have virtually nothing wrong with them, salad that is just past it's "best if used by" date, but not brown at all, or open. And a bunch of other stuff. Other good places are farmers markets, health food stores, and anything kind of independent. Major grocery stores throw all their food into trash compactors. Oh, and bagel shops are great too. They throw away bagels every single day, since they only sell fresh bagels.
http://freegan.info/ has lots of good info if you're really into it! :D
Are you going to post frequently? cos I'd love to link to you!
